Crazy times....

Since our 1st/last post, we did not expect things to be as hectic/crazy as they have been. It has been great, don't get me wrong!
We wake up daily to emails, FB from all over asking about the Tournament. Some people don't really understand the concept, some don't know how I have been able to get such Legendary names to agree to come & judge at the Tournament, etc.
What most people in today's wrestling world don't seem to understand, or remember is that I have had a long career in this business. Many of these Legendary Judges are my long time friends. We all want to give back to this business that has been so good to us over the years. We also want to allow these "young" independent wrestlers the opportunity to work with guys from around the world, in front on large crowds that they normally wouldn't have a chance to work in front of.
I had Honky Tonk Man on the Mantell's Corral last night. One comment he made, was you used to ask a guy how long they have been in this business to get an idea of what kind of experience they have had, but now days you have to ask how many matches a guy has had. He said that a few months ago he asked a guy at a Indy show how long he had been in the business, he said 3 years but had only had about 15 matches. Really? Amazing...
I am currently going through & looking for independent promotions & schools, taking time to call or email them personally to tell them about the Tournament & what opportunities it offers for them. Also, trying to start calling or being called by all the Wrestling "radio" shows from around the country to tell them about it. I spent a few minutes the other night on the Dave & Danger Show which is on the Georgia Wrestling History.com show lineup. It was a good show & the next day we had quite a few hits direct from their site. So what we are doing is getting the info out, we just need to keep trudging along.
Exciting news - I did a Interview with Dan Murphy with the ProWrestling Illustrated magazine that will run in the December Issue.
Huge Thanks to all the guys who  have offered to help get the info out to the masses. We need all the help we can get, in doing our research on indy groups, there are over 100+ in Texas alone. Just imagine how many are really out there.
We have put this #1 on our priority list to do this daily. Will do our best to keep you informed about our daily actions to bring this one of a kind event, the WoodStock of Wrestling, to you!!
Remember if you have any questions ever or want info or to enter the Tournament, visit the WWW/GWT site!

First day....

Welcome to a day in My Life... I thought what could be more interesting that following our day to day events in planning the first ever Germanfest Wringenmeisterschaft Tournament, independent wrestling tournament of its kind. It has taken on a life all by itself. We wake up daily to emails with questions about the Tournament, requests for Interviews & comments about the event. Which we love. We are excited that this is getting the response from around the world like it is.
Today we are headed to a Security Meeting with the Cooke County Sheriff's Office & John Broyles, Executive Director with the Muenster Chamber of Commerce. We want to make sure that everyone at the event, the wrestling particpants, the audience, judges & volunteers are all where they need to be.
Will also spend the afternoon calling on a group of independent promotions & schools listed in the Carolina's! This is getting the personal touch from us. We are personally calling as many organizations & schools that we can get info on so they know about it.
It was great talking to my old buddy, Honky Tonk Man, yesterday - he said he was in a dressing room a few weeks ago & heard something about the Tournament & he thought "man, that's a hell of an idea, it's got to be one of my old buddies doing it". Well he was right....
Tune in to tonight's Mantell's Corral for up to date info on what's going on & to find out who our "special guest" will be!
